Gunman Charged With Attempted Murder In Rockville Fight: Police

A 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after shooting a victim several times during a fight in Rockville last week, authorities say.

Najee Emanj Hardy-Estwick, who has an unidentified address, was arrested on Tuesday, July 19 for allegedly shooting a man in the 100 block of Gibbs Street around 1:45 a.m., Friday, July 15, according to Rockville City police.

The victim was shot three times and transported to a hospital where he continues to recover from his non-life-threatening injuries, police said, noting that the two are "known acquaintances of each other." 

Hardy-Estwick has been charged with:

  • First-degree murder;
  • First-degree assault;
  • Reckless endangerment;
  • Possession of a firearm;
  • Other undisclosed firearm-related offenses.

Hardy-Estwick was taken to the Central Processing Unit (CPU) where he is being held, according to police on Wednesday, July 20.
